Princess Cruises has announced that the elite 360 dining experience will now be available on a limited basis to non-suite guests.
The premium event does command a premium price, but is far more than just a dinner – it is an epic journey through culinary worlds of the Mediterranean, engaging all the senses in a unique event for every taste.
Exclusive Dining Experience No Longer Exclusive
The 360: An Extraordinary Experience dining event, usually an exclusive, invitation-only experience for suite guests, will now be available for any guests to purchase for $149 (USD) per person.
The announcement was made by Vicki Johnson, Senior VP of Communications at Princess, during a recent media event in Barcelona.
The dining experience will still be an included perk for suite guests, and therefore, the availability of open spots for purchase will vary on individual sailings, depending on suite occupancy and other factors.
This will ensure the exclusivity of the experience but will also offer the opportunity for more guests to try, while keeping the venue fully booked.

Only the cruise line’s two newest vessels, Discovery Princess and Enchanted Princess, currently offer 360: An Extraordinary Experience. Johnson would neither confirm nor deny whether or not the dining event will be available on the upcoming Sphere-class Sun Princess, scheduled to debut in January 2024 with 29 different dining venue and lounge options.
“We have plenty of things up our sleeves,”said Johnson.“Let your imagination go wild.”
Not every dining venue on Sun Princess has yet been revealed. A new specialty restaurant is supposed to be revealed aft on Deck 17, while a “mysterious” as-yet-unknown venue is hidden behind a black, unmarked door on Deck 8, midship. Either location could potentially be a space for 360: An Extraordinary Experience, or may be completely new dining concepts.
About 360 on Princess Cruises
The 360: An Extraordinary Experience is an immersive, destination-inspired, seven-course meal that is “a journey through the sights, sounds, textures, and scents of the Mediterranean.”
Not only are carefully curated and expertly prepared dishes part of the event, but aromas, sounds, textures, and more are part of the high-tech gastronomical gala.
Video screens with 4K cinematography, storytelling, personalization, and other effects are woven into the unique event, which connects guests to their meals in intimate and distinctive ways to foster greater understanding and appreciation of every bite.
At the moment, 360 only offers a Mediterranean dining experience with dishes from Greece, Spain, Italy, and France. Guest feedback has indicated a desire for additional destination-focused menus to be added to the unique culinary entertainment venue, though the cruise line has not announced any such plans in development.
Interested guests should note that the menu for 360 is a set experience (not a la carte ordering), though some adjustments can be made for allergies if the cruise line is appropriately notified.
Guests with less adventurous dining tastes may not enjoy the experience as much, but the menu offers amazing bites for a wide range of palates.
Exclusive Dining Options More Popular Than Ever
While specialty dining restaurants with exclusive menus are a staple for many cruise lines, elite dining “experiences” are becoming more and more popular aboard cruise ships, with a wide range of options available.

Guests aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas did not get as much time to enjoy the Port Canaveral and Orlando, Florida area as planned on the ship’s current sailing, due to a propulsion issue that has impacted the ship’s speed.
Repairs are already underway, however, but it is possible that additional itineraries may be affected depending on the nature of the needed repairs.
Oasis of the Seas Itinerary Change
Oasis of the Seas was delayed by an hour in reaching Port Canaveral, Florida on the ship’s current 7-night cruise. Guests onboard were notified by announcements made by the ship’s captain, as well as a letter delivered to their staterooms, of the need for the speed adjustment.
“An electrical component in one of our three propulsion pods needs replacing,”the letter explained.“While everything else is functioning at 100%, as a precaution we’ve lowered our speed.”
Because of the slower speed, the ship did not arrive at Port Canaveral until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Originally, the ship was scheduled to arrive at 1 p.m. The ship was still scheduled to depart the port of call at 9 p.m. as initially planned, so guests lost just one hour of port visit time.

Shore tours booked through the cruise line were automatically adjusted to the new port visit time.
At no time were any safety systems, navigation, or onboard operations impacted; only the ship’s cruising speed was adjusted. Repairs were already underway as the ship approached Port Canaveral and spent the day at the Space Coast, and at this time, there have been no further announcements of any itinerary changes.
Oasis of the Seas departed Cape Liberty, New Jersey on Sunday, October 1, 2023 and spend Monday as a day at sea before Tuesday’s visit to Port Canaveral.
Wednesday is scheduled as a day at the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Thursday, the ship will be in port at Nassau.
Two more days at sea will follow, taking Oasis of the Seas back to her homeport in New Jersey. The ship is scheduled to arrive back at Cape Liberty at 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 8.
If the electrical component is successfully replaced, there should be no further itinerary adjustments necessary. If the engine propulsion pod requires additional maintenance, however, it is possible there may be further changes to the itinerary through the week. It is also possible that there may need to be adjustments to the ship’s next sailing, an identical itinerary.

At this time, no such announcements have been made for future sailings – Oasis of the Seas is offering the same cruise each week for the next three weeks. In late October, the ship will reposition to Miami, Florida to offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises until moving to Europe in April 2024 for the summer Mediterranean sailing season.
The 226,838-gross-ton vessel, the first ship in the revolutionary Oasis class, can welcome 5,400 guests at double occupancy, or as many as 6,780 passengers when fully booked with all berths filled.
Other Engine Issues in the Royal Caribbean Fleet
Several Royal Caribbean International ships have been afflicted with engine difficulties in recent weeks.
The Quantum-class Anthem of the Seas recently had to adjust multiple itineraries due to engine maintenance affecting sailing speed, which has resulted in some skipped ports of call. For that ship, the itinerary changes are impacting multiple cruises for the next several months.
For each ship, the type of repair is different and the length of time for the repair depends on the level of work to be completed and whether or not it can be done while the ship is underway, while docked, or if a dry dock is needed.
Hopefully, the repairs to Oasis of the Seas will indeed be minor and quickly completed, so no further sailings need to be changed.
Parents of a young boy sailing aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Enchantment of the Seas had a tense few minutes on the dock in Salerno, Italy when their son accidentally slipped off the dock and into the water between the pier and the cruise ship.
He was quickly rescued from the water and uninjured, thanks to the fast actions of his father, crew members on the pier, and other guests.
Passenger Falls Into Water From Cruise Ship Pier
While visiting Salerno, Italy on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, an 8-year-old boy accidentally stepped off the cruise ship dock and fell into the water next to the cruise ship. The family – the boy, his parents, and his sister – had just debarked the ship for the day in port when the incident occurred, Corriere Della Sera reports.
The boy had been holding his father’s hand, but slipped loose after struggling for a few moments – as young children will do – and ran toward the edge of the dock, stepping off into the water. His father immediately jumped in as well, while alarmed cries from the mother and other cruise guests alerted nearly security guards.
A rope was thrown to the boy and he clung to it and was able to be pulled safely back onto the dock, wet but without injuries. The boy’s father was also assisted out of the water with a life ring. You can watch a video of the incident below:
During the incident, the mother’s panicked screams can be heard asking where her child is, but they were quickly reunited on the dock. To preserve the family’s privacy at this unsettling time, their names have not been released.
The 82,910-gross-ton, Vision-class Enchantment of the Seas is currently sailing a 7-night Greek Islands cruise, having departed from Rome on Monday, October 2. Salerno was the ship’s first port of call visit on the voyage, and the ship was in port from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. The startling incident did not have any impact on the ship’s schedule.
No other cruise ships were docked in Salerno on Tuesday, though the port is often visited by vessels from Costa Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Holland America Line, Marella Cruises, MSC Cruises, and other lines.

The current Enchantment of the Seas cruise will also visit Sicily, Santorini, Kusadasi, and Mykonos before debarking in Athens (Piraeus), Greece on Monday, October 9. The ship will remain in the Mediterranean offering visits to Greece, Italy, Montenegro, France, Spain, and other top destinations until mid-November.
On Monday, November 13, Enchantment of the Seas will set sail from Barcelona on a transatlantic cruise to bring her to Tampa, Florida where she will offer a range of Western Caribbean and Bahamas sailings at least through spring 2025.
Safety on the Dock
When cruise ships are docked, bumpers are used to keep the vessel from rubbing against the pier and potentially causing damage to either the ship or the dock. Because of those bumpers, there is a slight gap between the ship and the dock structure.
Yellow or red lines are often painted on the sides of the dock to ensure the edges are easily visible no matter what the conditions, and signage may indicate that everyone is to stay away from the edge. Young children, however, aren’t necessarily alert to these types of warnings and may inadvertently get too close to the edge in their excitement.
It is not typically possible to put permanent barricades along the edge of a dock, as such structures would interfere with docking operations, cargo loading, and other work.
All cruise guests should always stay alert to potential hazards on the dock and gangway, including trip hazards, slippery spots, or uneven surfaces. Rescue equipment is always kept nearby in case of any incidents.
Carnival Cruise Line brand ambassador John Heald has issued a reminder to cruise guests that while one of the benefits of upper level VIFP status is early stateroom access, dropping off one’s luggage and departing again is preferred so cabin attendants can more easily complete their work. It must also be noted that this early access is only available to certain guests and is not open to all passengers.
Guests Urged to Drop Off Luggage, Not Unpack
One of the most coveted perks of reaching Platinum or Diamond status with Carnival Cruise Line’s “Very Important Fun Person” (VIFP) loyalty program is the immediate stateroom access, when one’s can go to one’s cabin upon boarding rather than waiting until later in the afternoon when all staterooms are open.
Carnival Cruise Line brand ambassador John Heald, however, has had to politely remind guests that “access” does not mean unpacking and staying in one’s stateroom immediately upon boarding the ship.
“I need to respectfully and very kindly ask those that have permission to go directly to the cabin to drop off that carry on bags to please do just that, drop them off,”said Heald.“This is of course for guests, who are diamond, Platinum, staying in a suite, or have Faster to the Fun.”

The reminder comes after allegations that cabin attendants are “being rude” to guests by asking them to leave before they have unpacked.
Turnover days – when one set of guests debarks at the end of their cruise and new guests board the ship to set sail just a few hours later – are always very busy for all crewmembers. This is particularly true for cabin attendants, who must not only complete regular stateroom cleanings, but must also change out bed linens and do other deep cleaning to ensure the cabin is ready for the next guests.
“They need to clean your cabin, they need to do it to the highest of standards and then they have to move onto the next one,”explained Heald.“So please do just drop off the bags and then please go and enjoy lunch, etc.”
When dropping bags off in the stateroom, it is best to put them out of the way as much as possible. Tuck luggage under the bed, in a back corner, or in the closet, and leave the stateroom as quickly as possible so the attendant can continue their work without disruption.
Only guests who have this privilege – Platinum and Diamond VIFPs, guests who have purchased Faster to the Fun, or guests staying in suites – should be in their staterooms at all before the attendants have finished their work. Travelers without those privileges should wait until the cruise director announces that all staterooms are ready, which is typically around 1:30-2 p.m.
Lunch is served at the Lido deck buffet as well as other casual venues around the ship, such as Guy’s Burger Joint, Shaq’s Big Chicken, or the BlueIguana Cantina, though exact offerings vary on different vessels.
Spa tours with complimentary “taster” massages are often being offered on embarkation afternoon, and larger ships may offer a tour of public areas to help guest orient themselves around the ship so they don’t miss all the top venues onboard.

Guests with younger travelers will want to check in with Camp Carnival, Circle C, or Club O2 so they are registered and know where to meet up for youth events and activities. The Youth Programs Open House is held on embarkation day to familiarize parents with the Youth Spaces and staff as well.
With so much to do and so much to enjoy onboard every Carnival ship, it’s easy to just drop off carry-on bags and leave the stateroom so travelers don’t miss anything going on in the first hours of their oceangoing getaway.
Norwegian Cruise Line has decided to cancel three months’ of sailings for the Norwegian Escape. The cruise line cited “fleet redeployment” as the primary reason for this decision.
Nevertheless, while the cruise line may have plans for the Norwegian Escape, the shift will undoubtedly impact numerous guests, primarily since the cancellations encompass three 14-day voyages – typically booked well in advance compared to shorter cruises.
The redeployment is one in a string of announcements from the cruise line in the past year, where it cancelled cruises for numerous ships.
Impact on Guests and Bookings
Norwegian Cruise Line has cancelled a total of eight cruises onboard Norwegian Escape between January and March 2025.
The move is especially notable because among the cancelled sailings are three 14-day cruises – a significant highlight for many guests who plan their vacations long in advance.
The cancellations span from January 3, 2025, to March 21, 2025. With these sailings just over a year away, the implications for guests who had already set their sights on these dates are evident.
In an official letter sent out to guests and travel partners, Norwegian Cruise Line said:
“As a result of a fleet redeployment, Norwegian Escape’s sailings from January 3, 2025, through and including March 21, 2025, have been canceled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and, as always, are at your service.”
Guests affected by this cancellation will receive full refunds within 30 business days. For those who utilized a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for their bookings, the credit will be restored to their accounts. Moreover, as a gesture of goodwill, the cruise line is offering a 10% discount as an FCC for future voyages, valid through the end of 2025.
Impacted Norwegian Escape Cruises
The sailing dates for the affected voyages are the three fourteen-day voyages sailing on January 3, 17, and 31. Additionally, five seven-day cruises are affected, sailing February 14, 21, and 28, as well as March 7 and 14.
A glance at the affected sailings provides insight into the extent of the changes—the three 14-night voyages through the Caribbean were due to sail to destinations such as Cozumel and the Dominican Republic.

The cruises would have taken guests from Galveston, Texas, to ports such as Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, Cozumel in Mexico, and St. Lucia, among others.
The 7-night Caribbean cruises featured calls to popular spots in the Western Caribbean, including Norwegian’s private island Harvest Caye in Belize, Cozumel, and Roatan.
History Repeats Itself
History is repeating itself with Norwegian Cruise Line. This isn’t the first instance where the company announced a redeployment that led to the cancellation of multiple cruises.
Previously, Norwegian Cruise Line eliminated Norwegian Epic‘s upcoming winter season from Europe. In a communication to its customers, the cruise line confirmed the removal of 11 cruises spanning December 2023 to April 2024, attributing the decision once again to fleet redeployment.
In January, NCL cancelled an entire month of sailings for Norwegian Joy, setting the ship aside for a dry dock in early 2024.

More recently, in June, Norwegian Cruise Line decided to pull the plug on three Norwegian Epic cruises. These were all slated for 2025, with the justification being a dry dock the vessel will undergo during that year’s spring.
Cancelling cruises aboard the 164,998 gross tons, 4,266-guest Norwegian Escape draws attention to the decision-making at Norwegian Cruise Line’s headquarters.
While occasional alterations in itineraries are expected, the frequency of these changes might lead potential guests to think twice before making long-term bookings, given the perceived uncertainty around shifting deployments and changes in dry docks.
German cruise line Hapag-Lloyd was named “Best Fleet Worldwide” by a prestigious cruise ship guide publisher. The Hamburg-based line operates five luxury ships, including three expedition vessels, and is better known in Western Europe and the UK than in the US.
Prestigious Guide Gives German Line 5 Stars
Insight Guides Cruising & Cruise Ships, which is the former Berlitz Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships, on October 1, 2023 revealed that Hapag-Lloyd, the luxury cruise line based in Germany and largely catering to the German market, received a 5-star rating in its annual review of cruise ships.
The high ranking bestows the “Best Fleet Worldwide” title to Hapag-Lloyd. Its ships are the only vessels to all earn 5 stars during the guide’s evaluation process.
Hapag-Lloyd operates the 400-guest Europa, which launched in 1999, and the 500-guest Europa 2, which debuted in 2013. Additionally, the line introduced its New Expedition Class with three vessels, Hanseatic nature and Hanseatic inspiration, both entering service in 2019, and Hanseatic spirit, which launched in 2021. All three expedition ships accommodate 230 guests.
Within the small ship category, Insight Guides also named Hapag-Lloyd’s Europa 2 cruise ship as the “Top-Rated Cruise Ship in the World” after she received top scores. Sister ship Europa followed in second place. The small ship category evaluates vessels accommodating between 251 and 750 guests.
The cruise line’s expedition ship Hanseatic Spirit earned the publication’s top spot in the boutique ship category, reserved for vessels carrying between 50 and 250 guests, followed by her sister ships Hanseatic inspiration and Hanseatic nature.

While Hapag-Lloyd caters to the German market, most of its voyages are listed as international cruises, meaning that communication is provided in both German and English.
Insight Guides, which for many years was known as the highly-regarded Berlitz Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships, reviewed and evaluated 341 ships worldwide. You can take a look at the 2024 guide right here.
The 2023 guide was its 39th edition. Publication had paused during the pandemic years and has now resumed operations under the new name. The longtime editor of the publication, Douglas Ward, is well known among cruise industry insiders.
“It was my wife who pointed out that it is the first time in the history of my cruise guidebook, that any company has achieved the highest scores for all the ships in their fleet – and the only cruise line to achieve a five-star rating in the new guidebook! I extend my heartiest personal congratulations,” said Douglas Ward, guide book author.
For its part, Hapag-Lloyd celebrated the achievement with its chief executive officer praising the cruise line’s employees, both onshore and aboard ship.
“The recognition of the daily efforts of the crews on board and on land, their dedication to exceptional quality and excellence brings me great joy and pride. At the same time, it serves as motivation for the future,” said Julian Pfitzner, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.
Onboard Hapag-Lloyd Cruise Ships
Europa 2, now the world’s top-rated cruise ship, features seven stateroom categories, including Owner’s Suite, Grand Penthouse Suite, Penthouse Suite, Grand Ocean Suite, Family Apartment, Ocean Suite, and Veranda Suite. Butler service is provided in Penthouse and higher suites.
The ship has several dining venues: Weltmeere, for international cuisine, Tarragon, specializing in French specialties, Elements, offering Asian fare, Serenissima, featuring Italian favorites, and Sakura, offering Japanese dishes. Al fresco dining is available in the Yacht Club restaurant, and the ship has a wine bar called Grande Reserve.
Europa 2 is known for classic excursions as well as active tours such as rafting, and “Discovery” trips aboard small aircraft. Culture and history experts typically offer onboard programs.
The ship sails a wide variety of global voyages. An upcoming Caribbean cruise, a 12-day sailing on November 25, 2023 from Miami to Barbados, for example, features port calls at St. Maarten, the US Virgin Islands, and Bonaire, among others.
Hapag-Lloyd’s expedition ships operate worldwide itineraries to far-flung destinations such as Antarctica and the Arctic, Central and South America, the South Pacific, the Russian Far East, and Scandinavia. Expedition voyages focus on nature, wildlife, and local cultures, and each ship accommodates landings using Zodiac craft.
New photos and video have been released about a key moment in the construction of the upcoming Disney Treasure as the ship’s forward funnel has arrived at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany where the vessel is being built.
The funnel’s arrival adds one more piece to the ship and makes it even more recognizable as a Disney Cruise Line vessel.
Forward Funnel Arrives for Disney Treasure
The forward funnel for Disney Treasure has been successfully delivered to the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, where the new cruise ship is currently under construction. Photos and video show the funnel en route from where it was built in Poland and its delivery to the shipyard, where it will soon be mounted in place on the ship.
The first funnel – Disney cruise ships have two – was delivered in early February, and now the second funnel has arrived.
While the details of the funnel are not yet finished and it still needs to be painted in the bright red color so immediately noticeable for Disney vessels, it is clearly a Disney cruise ship funnel by the size, shape, and the Disney Cruise Line detailing visible on the side.
The funnel also shows a circular cutout near the aft section on the starboard side, likely for a section of the beloved 760-foot AquaMouse water coaster or for the Slide-a-Saurus Rex waterslide.
The funnel will also be home to the EPCOT-themed “Tomorrow Tower Suite” – an elite stateroom that will accommodate eight guests and has its own private elevator access. Dynamic artwork and futuristic accents will give the suite a chic vibe, with nearly 2,000 square feet of living space and separate eating, sleeping, and play areas for passengers to enjoy.

On the outside of the funnel, the ship’s “Funnel Vision” screen and sound system will be mounted for at-sea movies and big screen projections during deck parties such as the Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party.
Mounting a funnel is always a momentous part of a cruise ship’s construction, as this is when the hull really begins to resemble the finished ship and can be distinctively identified.
The “Grand Reveal” for the ship was initially postponed for several days due to Hurricane Idalia, but eventually announced that the ship would feature venues and entertainment from several Disney favorite films, including Aladdin, Coco, The Lion King, The Incredibles, Zootopia, Moana, and Mulan.
The overall theme of the ship is “adventure” with décor and venues showcasing worldwide iconic Disney locations and even theme park connections.
“As we chart a course for adventure, we’re so excited for families to discover the excitement and exploration that awaits onboard the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet,”said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Cruise Line.
Disney Treasure Cruise Ship
The 144,000-gross-ton Wish-class ship, sister to the amazingly popular Disney Wish, will be able to welcome 4,000 guests per sailing and is slated to debut on December 21, 2024. Also on board will be 1,555 international crew members to ensure every guest enjoys Disney Cruise Line’s magical service and unparalleled experiences.
Disney Treasure will be homeported from Port Canaveral, offering Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean itineraries, all of which will call at one of Disney Cruise Line’s private destinations in the Bahamas.
“The Treasure’s itineraries from Port Canaveral will include stops at one of Disney’s two private islands in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, or the newly added Eleuthera at Lighthouse Point, starting from June 2024,”said Thomas Mazloum, President of the New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences.
As the ship’s construction continues and more details are announced, even more excitement is sure to build for the upcoming ship that will provide a treasure trove of magical memories to every guest.
Royal Caribbean has officially disclosed the name of its second ship in the Icon-class series, Star of the Seas, and also announced the ship will debut in the summer of 2025.
The big reveal on October 5, 2023, came just three months before the first ship in the class, the highly-anticipated Icon of the Seas, enters service.
Second Icon-Class Ship Named Star of the Seas
The second vessel in Royal Caribbean’s Icon class, formerly known only as “Project NB-1401,” now has a name, Star of the Seas, as its construction continues at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland.
The cruise line also narrowed down the launch of the second Icon-class ship to the summer of 2025. Previously, Royal Caribbean had only revealed the ship would debut sometime in 2025. Royal Caribbean has provided no hints yet regarding where Star of the Seas will be deployed following her launch.
While few design details of the new Icon-class ship are confirmed, the new Royal Caribbean cruise ship is anticipated to be roughly the same size as Icon of the Seas.
Icon of the Seas, the first ship in the class, weighs 250,800 gross tons and has a capacity for 5,610 guests at double occupancy, and a total of about 7,600 guests with all berths occupied, making her the world’s largest cruise ship in 2024. At 1,198 feet long, the 20-deck ship will have 2,805 staterooms and an international crew of 2,350.
Like her sister ship, Star of the Seas will feature a variety of neighborhoods, theme park and thrill ride adventures, and other spaces.
When Icon of the Seas debuts in January 2024, the ship will offer neighborhoods and entertainment areas that include Central Park, AquaDome, Chill Island, Surfside, Thrill Island, and the Hideaway. Guests will enjoy the ship’s seven pools and six waterslides, among other activities.
While Star of the Seas is likely to have most of those public spaces already featured on her sister ship, Royal Caribbean also promises new features and experiences will be introduced.

Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas
Star of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean’s third ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), following Icon of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas. It will have other environmental protections and safeguards onboard.
Construction of the second Icon-class vessel began early in 2023, with a traditional steel-cutting ceremony held on February 14 at the Finnish shipyard. The ship’s next construction milestone will be her keel-laying ceremony, on a date not yet known.
Cruisers Get Glimpses Into the Icon Class
Royal Caribbean has provided glimpses into the construction of Icon of the Seas with a video series called “Making an Icon.” The multi-segment series has energized interest in the new mega-ship, as future cruisers can peek into the building, engineering, and design aspects of the vessel.

It is possible that the cruise line will also chronicle the building of Star of the Seas with a video series since the project has boosted traveler interest in Icon of the Seas.
However, anticipation of the new ship’s launch was evident from the day bookings opened in October 2022, which resulted in Royal Caribbean’s single largest booking day — and highest volume booking week — in the cruise line’s history.
Also being built at the shipyard in Finland, Icon of the Seas will sail her inaugural voyage on January 27, 2024. The ship, which successfully completed its first set of sea trials in June 2023, will homeport in Miami following the launch. Through the spring of 2025, Icon of the Seas will sail Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
