Carnival Announces 155 Halloween Sailings Across All 29 Ships in 2026

Key Aspects:

  • Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed the dates for 155 Halloween-themed cruises across the fleet for 2026.
  • Every ship in the fleet will offer multiple Halloween sailings from late September through October.
  • Seasonal activities, foods, and entertainment will be available onboard, including costume contests.

Excitement may be building for America 250 celebrations in just three weeks, including onboard parties and ship meetups, but cruise guests are already planning ahead for spookier celebrations and Carnival Cruise Line is getting ready for the haunting fun.

Brand ambassador John Heald has confirmed which sailings throughout the Carnival fleet will be featuring Halloween decorations and special events for the scary (and not-so-scary) season.

“Halloween is a brilliant time to cruise and as tradition demands, we will be celebrating this fabulously fun event featuring a decorated ship Halloween style, and a costume parade throughout the month of October,” he said in a Facebook announcement.

In total, 155 different “Frightfully Fun” voyages will set sail in 2026 aboard the 29 ships in the fleet. The first themed sailing will be aboard Carnival Luminosa‘s September 20 departure, a 19-night repositioning cruise from San Francisco through top Alaska ports and on to Japan, arriving in Tokyo on October 9.

Carnival Conquest will be offering the most spooky cruises with nine different themed sailings, all of which are 3- and 4-night Bahamas cruises from Miami. Carnival Luminosa has just two Halloween cruises this year due to her unique schedule of repositioning sailings at that time.

The schedule does note that a favorite character who appears on Carnival ships at Halloween, the 12-foot-tall Patch the Pumpkin Pirate, will not be aboard Carnival Luminosa, Carnival Legend, or Carnival Freedom this year “due to travel plans.” All other decorations and activities are still planned, however.

“All ships will still be totally spooked-up with Halloween fun and activities!” the calendar states.

Great Fun Onboard to Celebrate Halloween

Guests can expect a range of different themed events and activities on Carnival ships during the Halloween season.

“Just so we’re clear, our ships probably aren’t haunted… but every sailing does come complete with fun Halloween extras!” the cruise line’s website notes.

Spooky trivia, themed bingo games, seasonal drinks, Halloween movies on the big screen, special live music and entertainment performances, costume contests, themed crafts, and a Halloween parade are all on the schedule, though exact activities and options will vary on different sailings.

All other typical onboard activities, including production shows, trivia games, live music, and more are still planned as well.

Rules for Costumes

Guests who are ready to set sail for spooky fun are welcome to bring costumes, but should be careful that their Halloween gear abides by Carnival Cruise Line’s policies.

Cruise Hive has previously reported on Carnival’s costume policies, which includes that all costumes should be family-friendly and no weapons (real or fake) are permitted. Masks and face coverings are also prohibited, as is any real or implied nudity (leave the “sexy” costumes on land!) or obscene words or images.
