How Cruise Hive Uses AI

Cruise Hive is written by expert cruisers. Every article is researched, written and edited by people who know cruising first hand. AI does not write our news or our guides.
Where We Use AI
We use AI tools for a small number of support tasks behind the scenes.
Checking for Mistakes
Once an article has been written, an AI tool may be used for a first check of spelling, grammar and other errors. A managing editor then reviews the article again before it is published.
Title Ideas
AI may suggest options for a title. A person chooses and writes the final version.
Topic Research
AI may help us find topics and background information. Anything we use is checked against the original source before it appears in an article.
Description Ideas
AI may suggest options for the short descriptions that accompany our articles. A person writes the final version.
Where We Do Not Use AI
Our Articles
AI is not used to write articles or any part of them. The reporting, the facts and the voice come from our team, who draw on years of sailing, visiting ports and covering the cruise industry. That experience is something an AI tool does not have.
This also includes our Key Aspects summary that is above most articles. The same writer of the article will also write the Key Aspects.
Photos
We do not use AI to create photos or to change what a photo shows. When we show an artist’s impression of a ship still being built, it is supplied by the cruise line.
Cruise Boards
Cruise Boards is a place for cruisers to share their own experiences, questions and advice. We ask members to write posts in their own words and to share only their own genuine photos. Posts or images that appear to be made with AI may be removed by our moderators.
Who Is Responsible
Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it on the byline, and a managing editor reviews it before it goes live. If you think we have made a mistake, please contact us and we will look into it.
Changes to This Policy
If the way we use AI changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
