Virgin Voyages’ Second Cruise Ship Revealed as Valiant Lady

Virgin Voyages has revealed details about its second cruise ship which arrives in 2021 including the name which will be Valiant Lady.

Richard Branson’s cruise line has announced new details about the second Virgin Voyages cruise ship which is currently under construction in Genoa, Italy. The ship will be named Valiant Lady and the sister ship to Scarlet Lady which is the first vessel fro Virgin arriving in April 2020.

The ship’s name is nspired by the latin word valere and from the French origin, vaillant, meaning “bold”, “strong”, and “courageous.”

Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said:

“We are thrilled to unveil the name of our second ship –  Valiant Lady – and to deliver on our commitment to offer travelers a sea change in how they can experience cruising in this fantastic part of the world. Our Sailors will fall in love with the places we go and the moments and memories they will be able to create on our gorgeous ship. After all, there is no better way to sail the seven seas than doing it the Virgin way.”

Valiant Lady Itineraries

Valiant Lady will sail 7-day Mediterranean cruises out of Barcelona, Spain when she debuts in May 2021. She will sail to some of the best destinations in the region and bookings for these cruises will open on December 19, 2019.

Every sailing will also be featuring an overnight in Ibiza located in the Balearic islands and the party capital of the region. The ship will offer three different itineraries as follows:

  • Itinerary 1 includes the exotic delights of Barcelona, Ibiza, Monte Carlo, Marseille and Olbia
  • Itinerary 2 includes a fantastic sampling of the Med featuring Barcelona, Ibiza, Toulon, Ajaccio, Marina di Carrara and Cagliari
  • Itinerary 3 is a mostly Spanish immersion, stopping by Barcelona, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and the British port of Gibraltar

Once completed by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri the second Virgin cruise ship will be 110,000 gross tons with a capacity of around 2,770 sailors and 1,160 amazing crew members.

Scarlet Lady which is the first of the two will be based out of Miami, Florida offering cruises to the Caribbean. Virgin will be revealing further details about Valiant Lady in the future.
