Virgin Voyages and Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri have agreed on the order of a fourth cruise ship. The ship will arrive in 2023 and be the sister to three other Virgin cruise ships which were already ordered a while back.
Fourth Virgin Cruise Ship Ordered
A contract valued at around 700 million euros between Virgin Voyages and Fincantieri. The agreement is for a fourth Virgin Voyages cruise ship which will be delivered by the Italian shipbuilder in 2023.
The newly announced vessel will be the sister ship to Scarlet Lady, the first ever cruise ship for the Fort Lauderdale based cruise line coming in 2020. Scarlet Lady is already under construction at the Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy. The other two sister ships which have not yet been named will be delivered in 2021 and 2022.
The fourth vessel will be the same class at 110,000 gross tons, 278 meters long and 38 meters wide. The unnamed vessel will have a guest capacity of over 2,770 featuring more than 1,400 passenger cabins. The ship will have 1,100 crew members proving an amazing Virgin service.
We’ve already covered the first Virgin Cruise ship named Scarlet Lady extensively on Cruise Hive. She is one of the most anticipated new cruise ships ever and the cruise line is already teasing on social media by slowly dripping out what the ship will feature.
Just recently we posted about the first Virgin ship featuring a Tattoo Studio at sea, you can really about that right here. You can also take a look at one of the first rendering videos of what the ship will actually look like once completed.
When Scarlet Lady enters service she will be based out of Miami, Florida sailing week-long Caribbean cruises. She will also be for adults-only.
