Even though the new vessel has been delivered already, her maiden voyage will depart out of Miami, Florida in just 46 days! Scarlet Lady is energy-efficient with state-of-the-art equipment and the cruise line is dedicated to having carbon neutral cruise ships.
Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson, said:
โItโs wonderful to welcome Scarlet Lady today.โ
โIโm so proud that as we start this exciting journey, we also bring to life Virgin Voyagesโ commitment to preserving the ocean and the first of many steps towards a net zero carbon future.โ
The new Virgin cruise ship is set to begin a new era of cruising offering new experiences not seen on other traditional lines. Scarlet Lady has ditched the traditional dining concept and is even offering completely free dining venues onboard. The ship has the first Tattoo Studio at sea, a Virgin Records store, champagned app delivery, innovative lounges and bars and a lot more.
Scarlet Lady is an adults-only cruise ship at 110,000 gross tons, measuring 278 meters long, 38 meters wide and featuring 1,400 guest cabins. The ship has a passenger capacity of 2,770 along with 1,160 crew members.
Scarlet Lady will first sail some exclusive sailings in the UK this month before beginning year-round cruises from Port Miami in April 2020. She will sail the Caribbean and the Bahamas, including Virgin’s new beach club resort in Bimini.
This is not the only ship Fincantieri is building for the cruise line. Another three ships in the same class are currently under construction or on order, including the Valient Lady, which is arriving in 2021, and then another in 2022 and 2023.
