Five Cruise Ships Have Not Yet Met CDC Approval

With preparations for a resumption of cruises in full swing, it comes somewhat as a surprise to see that no less than five cruise ships have not yet met the CDC’s approval for disembarking crew members.

The new ‘Seuss At Sea’ program which Carnival Cruise Lines announced back in December 2013 has now been rolled out to the Carnival Splendor last week. It;s the very first ship to feature Seuss At Sea which will be rolled out fleet wide over time.

The festivities started with a Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with Cat in the Hat and friends which is a popular feature from the Dr Seuss books. the event was held in the ships dining room along with dressed up waiters to add to the experience. Popular Dr Seuss characters also attended including Cat in the Hat, Thing One, Thing Two and of course Sam-I-Am. Kids and even the adults were able to have a photo with their favorite Seuss characters too.

There were other Seuss At Sea events throughout the ship with a huge Dr Seuss parade along the promenade deck which is where all the action is in the evening. There was also a special Dr Seuss book reading in the main show lounge with a tent set up on stage.

[quote_box_center]“Quality family time is more important than ever in today’s ‘always on’ society and we’re very excited to debut the first Seuss at Sea program which brings the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss to thousands of families sailing aboard the Carnival Splendor,” said Susan Brandt, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises. “We can’t wait to work with our partners at Carnival to create even more magical memories for families as we roll out the Seuss at Sea experience to additional ships across Carnival’s fleet.”[/quote_box_center]

Seuss At Sea will be every cruise on the Carnival Splendor and is another way to increase bookings for the American based cruise line. Carnival Freedom will be the next vessel to get the new program during it’s multi-million dollar upgrade. The upgrade will also include some special dedicated Seuss At Sea spaces which Cruise Hive has previously reported on. The Program will be rolled out to all ships in the fleet by 2015.
