New Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Floats Out

Royal Caribbean's second Quantum-ultra class cruise ship has floated out of the construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

To help celebrate the newest addition to the Thomson Cruises fleet Strictly Come Dancing Star Anton Du Beke surprised guests on the TUI Discovery. The ship is sailing its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean.

During the event on Tuesday the star was mingling with guests, signing autographs and doing a Q&A session in front of a live audience onboard. Anton also attended a private cocktail party with VIP guests with even further mingling.

Managing Director Helen Caron said:

“I am excited to welcome Anton Du Beke on board to help celebrate the launch of Thomson Cruises newest ship TUI Discovery. I am sure that this special appearance will enhance what is already a fantastic line up of entertainment.”

Thomson Cruises is teaming up with Anton Du Beke where he will be hosting Virtual Dancing Lessons onboard. All the entertainment services for Thomson are produced by PEEL Entertainment and they are currently working on ways in improving the guest entertainment experience.

TUI Discovery is a 69,100 gross ton ship which recently joined the Thomson fleet after being purchased from Royal Caribbean last year. The ship will sail Mediterranean cruises until it departs for Bridgetown, Barbados on October 29, 2016. The ship will spend the winter season there before returning back to Palma for Summer 2017.
