Cruise Hive is sad to report of a passenger who has died onboard a Royal Caribbean ship, this is according to a report from Bernews.

According to the site, a 45-year old American male was found dead in his cabin on Grandeur of the Seas. The Royal Caribbean ship was docked in Bermuda at the time on Saturday afternoon, August 20.

Local Police said:

“At 1:40pm on August 20, 2016, police received a report of a death onboard the cruise ship, Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas which was berthed at Heritage Wharf in Dockyard.

“It was reported that the 45-year-old male American national was found dead in his cabin. His death was certified by the ships’ doctor.

“Foul play is not suspected and the Bermuda Police Service is liaising with the relevant ship authorities.”

Grandeur of the Seas is a 74,1300 gross ton vessel which can carry over 1,900 passengers at double occupancy. The vessel is currently sailing an 8-night Bermuda and Bahamas cruise which is scheduled to arrive back at its home port in Baltimore, Maryland on August 27.
