Royal Caribbean has now changed its mind on letting guests keep purchased $18 drink package price which was a glitch.

Guests Can Keep Their Very Cheap Drink Package!

In a glitch on the Royal Caribbean web site the Deluxe Beverage Package was available to purchase for just $18 per guest per day. That was a huge discount to guests and many were shocked by posting on social media.

The drink package usually runs $55 per day and many snapped up the amazing deal. However, it wasn’t an amazing deal and was indeed a mistake on the Royal Caribbean web site.

The cruise line originally tweeted that they were not going to honor the mistake and in fact refund the price back to those who booked.

Royal Caribbean also provided 30% off the Deluxe Beverage Package on all the affected sailings the glitch occurred. As you can imagine many were not happy that the $18 was not being honored.

But now Royal Caribbean has decided to backtrack and change its mind! In a new message which went out to all those guests impacted. Here is the letter from Aurora Yera-Rodriguez, Director of Guest Services:

Dear Guest,

Well, this round’s on us.

On Monday, July 1st, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 1:30 AM EST, we posted incorrect pricing of $18 USD per person, per day, for Deluxe Beverage packages. Given that we typically price these packages at about $55 USD per person, per day, it was the (messed up) deal of the century.

This was a BIG mistake! It might have been bad code, a random computer glitch – or maybe we just need to reinstate our intern typing test.

Any which way, it was our error, and we’ll own it. Enjoy your deep, deep discount – while we go drown our sorrows.

Happy 4th of July!

They took some time to think about it but finally guests can be happy that the “deal of the century” is being honored after all. Now many guests must be kicking themselves they didn’t get in on the super good reduced price.
