Royal Caribbean Announces New Itineraries for Two Cruise Ships

Royal Caribbean has announced new itineraries for Majesty of the Seas out of New Orleans and Empress of the Seas out of Miami.

Majesty of the Seas from New Orleans

Royal Caribbean has announced a return with year-round cruises from New Orleans in 2020 with Majesty of the Seas. The ship which is currently based from Fort Lauderdale, Florida will begin a new service from the Big Easy starting in January 2020.

The ship will offer 7-night cruises including calls at the cruise line’s very own private island in the Bahamas named Perfect Day at CocoCay. This is a great alternative now that Majesty of the Seas no longer calls to Havana, Cuba due to the U.S. travel ban.

Bookings are now open for the new offerings on sailings through April 2020. Sailings after that month will be open for bookings from July 22.

Majesty of the Seas is a 74,000-ton cruise ship with a passenger capacity of over 2,800 at double occupancy. She joined the fleet in 1992 and one of the oldest in the fleet.

Empress of the Seas from Miami

It was also announced that Empress of the Seas which was another Royal Caribbean cruise ship which sailed to Cuba will sail to a new cruise port.

Even though the vessel will continue to be based out of PortMiami in Florida a new port of call will be introduced for the cruise line. Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands will be available on itineraries from January 2020 through April 2020.

The ship’s 6night to 8-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings will also include calls at Mexico, Belize and the Bahamas. One of those calls will be Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s newly upgraded private island destination.

Empress of the Seas has a gross tonnage of 48,500 with a guest capacity of over 1,500 at double occupancy. She is currently the oldest ship in the fleet but has undergone a major upgrade.
