The Queen Mary 2 has come to the rescue of a small boat during her 175th Anniversary transatlantic crossing.
ITV is reporting the rescue of the small boat by the 150,000 gross ton liner. The ship turned around during the transatlantic crossing to help the boat which was around 450 miles west from the Irish coast. According to the site a crew member spotted the boat which seemed to be in distress.
The Queen Mary 2 along with Cunard Line is currently celebrating its 175th Anniversary and has already been involved in some iconic Cunard celebrations. This crossing is just one iconic event out of many throughout 2015. The vessel was sailing towards Halifax, Nova Scotia at the time where it’s scheduled to arrive on July 10th.
Cruise Hive has contacted Cunard Line for further details about the rescue and will update this post once we get a response.
