Those guests cruising on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 will be among the very first to visit Dubai’s new floating hotel, the iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) ship. The old Cunard operated vessel will open up for business in April.
Those guests onboard the current Cunard flagship of Queen Mary 2 will be able to take a first look at the QE2 which is opening as a permanently docked floating luxury hotel in Dubai’s Mina Rashid.
Lucky for those on Queen Mary 2 which is currently sailing a world cruise will be making a call in Dubai including an overnight on the very same day the QE2 hotel opens. On April 18th the media and guests from the Cunard ship can attend the ceremony. Even future Queen Mary 2 travelers can visit the hotel when the ship returns to the United Arab Emirates in January and April 2019.

On the site, you can take a look at the stunning refurbished suites and staterooms which feature all the modern fittings including a nice large flat TV. The company which now owns the hotel ship will also be introducing a new app so guests onboard can benefit from special offers and even accessing their accommodation.

QE2 was launched by Her Majesty the Queen in 1967 and was the Cunard flagship liner (a role she relinquished to Queen Mary 2 in May 2004), undertaking 25 world cruises, crossing the Atlantic more than 800 times and carrying more than 2.5 million passengers.  QE2 is owned by PCFC Hotels – part of the Dubai government’s Ports, Customs and Free Zones Corporation and will reside permanently in Dubai.
