Princess Cruises has announced a further extension of its pause on operations impacting a range of sailings, including North America.
Princess Cruises Extends Suspension of Operations
The Carnival-owned cruise line has cancelled more cruises through December 15, 2020, impacting sailings in the Caribbean, Australia, Asia, and more. Princess has detailed a number of ships and regions around the globe which are affected:
- All cruises sailing in and out of Australia on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess through October 31, 2020
- All sailings in Asia, Caribbean, California Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America & Antarctica, Japan, and Tahiti/South Pacific through December 15, 2020
Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president, said:
“We share in our guests’ disappointment in cancelling these cruises”
“We look forward to the days when we can return to travel and the happiness it brings to all who cruise.”
Princess Cruises is offering guests who have already paid in full in a Future Cruise Credit plus an additional 25% extra on the amount paid. Those who have not paid in full will receive double the deposit and a Future Cruise Credit based on what has already been paid.
The Future Cruise Credits will automatically be applied but guests can also request a full refund of their booking if cruising with with Princess is no longer wanted. There are some restrictions on refunds and credits, so do check your booking details and terms before making your decision.
The reason for the extension is due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and discussions with various governments for when cruises can resume. Travel restrictions and port closures are also having an impact and implementing new procedures is complex to make sure guests and crew members remain safe. Cruise Hive will continue to bring you updates on all cruise lines’ operations as the situation changes.
