A cruise ship passenger has sadly died after being overboard the luxury cruise ship Seven Seas Mariner on Tuesday morning. The U.S. Coast Guard was also involved in the search and rescue.

In another overboard we are sad to post that a 73-year-old man has died. He was overboard near the Strait of Juan de Fuca which is on the border between Canada and the United States west coast. It occurred at around 4:30 on Tuesday morning.
The Coast Was alerted from the ship and an immediate search operation was launched using air and sea. The man was found unresponsive in the water later in the afternoon.
Capt. M.M. Balding, Sector Puget Sound Commanding Officer, said:
“We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim who were affected by this tragedy.”
“Any time we are unable to accomplish our goal of saving lives, we are deeply saddened. Our thoughts are with them in their time of grief.”
The cruise guest was taken to medical emergency personnel on land and then transferred to Olympic Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased. An investigation is also underway into how the guest was overboard the vessel.
