If there is one group of people that could certainly use the holiday cheer this year, itโ€™s the crew members onboard the various Cruise Ships worldwide that have no guests onboard. Luckily we can always count on the Grinch to spread the holiday cheer! Waitโ€ฆ?

Yes, it was the Grinch who spread some holiday cheer around the Carnival Ships. The Grinch is undoubtedly not well known for having a warm heart, but everything is different this year, so the Grinch delivered more than 10.000 handwritten cards from fans, police departments, kids, and employees.

Carnival shared multiple pictures today of the various Carnival ships worldwide that have received great Holiday messages from Carnival fans worldwide.

Operation Happy Holidays

John Heald, Carnival’s Brand Ambassador, was the one who started Operation Happy Holidays, while it was subsequently promoted by many of the cruise lines employees and Facebook page.

There are 125 crew members on each of the 23 vessels at the moment, and to receive a Christmas would be a huge morale boost. Many crew members have been onboard for many months already and are looking at spending several more onboard. To be away from family and friends during the holidays is a tough time of the year, especially with no guests on board.

The response was outstanding. Carnival fans worldwide posted pictures of themselves writing cards and mailing them towards the Carnival headquarters in Miami. Even the Galveston Police Department showed their thanks by sending in more than 500 cards.

Christine Duffy reacted through a press release earlier today:

โ€œThis yearโ€™s holiday season is different and our most sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who stepped up and made our crew feel special and are making their holidays brighter, Operation Happy Holidays is a testament to our wonderful guests and employees who go to great lengths to remember our crew who are the secret behind our success.โ€

Even kids from the Camp Carnival child education center at the companyโ€™s Miami headquarters helped out, creating beautiful handmade cards for team members on board.

It is certainly an incredible sight to see Carnival Cruise Line honoring the fantastic crew members on board the ships. Without them, a cruise would have very little meaning throughout.

One of the most important reasons for his popularity is his care and compassion he shows for the crew onboard the ships, while his inappropriate musings cause significant waves.

Operation Happy Holidays is another sign of how one person can make a huge difference in the lives of crew members.
