With pent up desire for cruises encouraging many eager travelers to take advantage of recent Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, many cruise lines have recently set booking records. Norwegian Cruise Line has had an impressive triple record-breaking streak, setting record day, week, and month of sales in recent days.
Record Breaking Bookings Across the Board
Norwegian Cruise Line’s recent sales push has seen amazing results and encouraged many eager travelers to make cruise plans.
Black Friday – November 25, 2022 – was the single best booking day in the cruise line’s history, followed by November 28, 2022 as the single best Cyber Monday sales date. Together, those two phenomenal dates added up to the best booking week in the company’s history.
Added to that is another new weekly record the next week, and Norwegian Cruise Line saw its best-ever booking month for sales in November 2022.
“Momentum is strong and there is no better evidence of this than our record-breaking performance this November, the best-booked month in the history of our Cruise Line,” said Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “This achievement is even more impressive when considering November is historically one of the slower booking months for our business.”
While retail shopping is always high in November as the gift-giving holiday season begins, larger purchases such as cruise vacations are not on many people’s holiday list.
Yet the spectacular sales offered by Norwegian Cruise Line – which included the all-inclusive “Free at Sea” package with free airfare, unlimited open bar, specialty dining, shore excursions, wifi, and even free third and fourth guests in the same stateroom – tempted many travelers to make plans.
Because the deals included sailings through 2025, interested cruisers had the opportunity to book future cruises at great savings without needing to rush to pack their bags for last-minute getaways.
Included in the offers were sailings aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest, most innovative ship, Norwegian Prima, which just began welcoming guests in August.
These great sales results bode well for total bookings in 2022 and ahead into 2023.
“On the heels of the successful launch of our groundbreaking Norwegian Prima, which has already received numerous accolades, we are well on our way to a banner year,” said Sommer. “I’m very excited about 2023 and all that is yet to come.”
Coming for Norwegian Cruise Line in 2023
The biggest thing coming for Norwegian Cruise Line in 2023 will of course, be the launch of its second Prima-class ship, Norwegian Viva. Sister ship to the hugely successful Norwegian Prima, Norwegian Viva is scheduled to debut in August 2023. The ship has already had several delays due to shipyard supply issues, but should still set sail in 2023.
Norwegian Viva will continue the popular features of Norwegian Prima, including a 3-level go-kart racetrack, the sustainable Metropolitan Bar with its exclusive dynamic artwork, luxurious wellness options in the thoughtfully designed Mandara Spa, remarkable dining variety, and much more.
In 2023, the cruise line is also sure to make announcements and release further details about future Prima-class ships, as additional vessels are already on order.
While shipyard constraints have already delayed the new vessels, the third and fourth Prima-class ships are planned to join the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet in 2025 and 2026, and 2023 may be the year that the ship’s names and initial itineraries may be released.
With so much excitement to come for the line, Norwegian Cruise Line is sure to finish 2022 strong and head into 2023 for an even better year.
