Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed the godfather of Norwegian Bliss which will be christened in May 2018.

The godfather of Norwegian Bliss has been revealed as Elvis Duran, a top-rated iHeartMedia radio host. Elvis will attend the ships christening ceremony on May 30, 2018, at Pier 66 in Seattle. The Norwegian Cruise ship will be a new addition to the NCL fleet and is being custom built for the Alaskan cruise market.

Andy Stuart, Norwegian Cruise Line’s president and chief executive officer, said:

The christening ceremony which is also known as the naming ceremony is a major milestone for a new cruise ship and it officially marks the ships cruising service.

Norwegian Bliss is currently under construction at the Meyer Weft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany and once complete will be 167,800 gross tons and a passenger capacity of 4,000. The ship is a Breakaway-Plus class vessel just like sister ship Norwegian Escape.

The vessel will arrive in Spring 2018 and sail in Alaska. Norwegian Bliss will offer 7-day cruises from Pier 66 in Seattle, Washington with calls in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, British Columbia.

For the winter season starting in November 2018, the new Norwegian cruise ship will sail 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises departing PortMiami every Saturday with calls in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Nassau, Bahamas.

Norwegian Cruise Line has already revealed the ships stunning hull artwork and many features which will be onboard.
