Ryndam to be Third Pinnacle-class Cruise Ship
Holland America Line has revealed details about the third Pinnacle-class cruise ship which will be sister to Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam. The next new cruise ship will be named Ryndam and will be delivered in Mat 2021. It will be the fourth ship to carry the name in the cruise line’s history.
Orlando Ashford, Holland America Line’s president, said:
“Holland America Line honors the timeless tradition of cruising while also embracing new innovations for today’s travelers, and the name Ryndam reflects the unique history of this company while honoring previous ships that were progressive in their time as this last Ryndam will be”
“From the first Ryndam more than 100 years ago to the most recent, the namesake ships have been beloved by our guests. The next Ryndam will bring new life to one of the most notable series of vessels in our history.”
The ship will be almost identical to her sister ships at 99,500 gross tons and with a guest capacity of 2,662. Holland America has not yet announced the specific features of Ryndam but the ship will have more enhanced Pinnacle class
amenities and innovations.
Physical construction of the vessel already started on March 13 with a traditional steel cutting ceremony at the Fincantieri Marghera shipyard in Italy. This will be a long process for the 17th constructed Holland America ship with the keel laying and float out still to come.
