Carnival Cruise Line has released further details on the three cruise ships which have been impacted by Tropical Storm Harvey.
Carnival Cruise Line has revealed a new update on Carnival Freedom, Carnival Valor, and Carnival Breeze, the only ships in the fleet affected by Tropical Storm Harvey. Things are on the up now that dates are more set in stone compared to just a day ago when the Storm was hitting the Texas coast once again.
Carnival Cruise Line latest update:
Carnival Valor and Carnival Freedom will depart New Orleans this afternoon and will then resume course to Galveston. Carnival Breeze will overnight in New Orleans today and will start making her way to Galveston on Thursday evening.
Assuming the port reopens later this week, Carnival Freedom will dock on Friday and debark guests from its previous cruise. Embarkation for the September 2 voyage will take place on Saturday as scheduled.
Carnival Valor will arrive in Galveston on Saturday morning to disembark guests. As previously mentioned, the August 31 sailing of Carnival Valor has been cancelled. However, the September 4 sailing will operate as scheduled.
Carnival Breeze is scheduled to arrive on Saturday evening to disembark guests from the previous cruise. Embarkation for the September 3 sailing will take place on Sunday as scheduled.

In brief, Carnival Freedom and Valor will depart New Orleans this afternoon. Carnival Freedom is expected to dock at Port of Galveston on Friday, September 1 and then begin its regular 7-night sailing the next day, Saturday, September 2.
Carnival Valor is expected to dock in Galveston, Texas on Saturday, September 2. Guests will disembark the ship. The as previously reported the August 31 sailing is canceled so the ship will stay docked and begin the September 4 5-night cruise as normal.
Carnival Breeze will is staying overnight in New Orleans from today and will sail to Galveston on Thursday. Guests will disembark at the port on Saturday evening and the ship will depart on Sunday, September 3 as scheduled.
All these dates and sailings are due to the assumption that Port of Galveston will reopen to shipping towards the end of the week. Just remember if the port doesn;t open then further itinerary changes could be ahead.
Tropical Storm Harvey
The storm is still causing major disruption across Texas and will begin hitting parts of southwestern Louisiana through Friday. Harvey currently has maximum sustained winds of 40 MPH.
