ms Koningsdam Delivered To Cruise Line At Italian Shipyard

Holland America has taken delivery of the ms Koningsadm at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. The delivery completes the ships construction and now the cruise line takes over responsibility of the ship. The handover ceremony will officially take place in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday, April 2.

ms Koningsdam is the first Pinnacle class ship for Holland America Line at 99,800 gross tons. The vessel is the 15th ship built by the Italian ship builder for the cruise line. Ms Koningsdam is almost 300 metres long and can carry 2,650 passengers in more than 1,300 cabins. 70% of cabins have a private balcony with an ocean view.

Highlights onboard include the “World Stage” theater with a circular LED wall of 20 meters in diameter, never built before on a ship, which spreads 270 degrees and allows the viewer to fully immerse in the show. Guests can enjoy a 2-deck all-weather Lido space and a breathtaking Greenhouse Spa.

The largest ever ship built for Holland America Line will begin its inaugural sailings from April with Mediterranean cruises from Civitavecchia, Italy.
