Lucky Escape Near Cruise Ship In Bonaire

A bus driver got a lucky escape in Bonaire this week while the Aidadiva cruise ship was calling at the island. According to an eyewitness who posted the photo, the brakes had failed on the local bus but luckily the driver managed to jump out before it reached the edge. Thankfully there were no cruise passengers on the bus at the time and the driver had no injuries.

Justin Moore who posted the photo said the following:

It as a bus driver in the bus by himself. He managed to jump before the bus went over the edge. No one was hurt..

The Adiadiva cruise ship which is operated by German based Aida Cruises was calling at Kralendijk, Bonaire at the time. Many passengers use these busses to get around the Dutch island. The Aida cruise ship arrived at the island’s capital at around 8 AM and departed as scheduled at 6 PM on February 24.

Aida Diva is sailing 14 night Caribbean cruise which departed Bridgetown, Barbados on February 28. Bonaire is a Dutch island in the southern Caribbean popular for snorkeling and diving tours. Aidadiva is a 68,500 gross ton ship and can carry over 2,000 passengers at double occupancy. Most guests come from Germany and Europe.
