Liberty of the Seas Cruise Delayed Due to Tropical Storm Harvey

Royal Caribbean has been one of the cruise lines impacted by Tropical Storm Harvey and we’ve got the latest updates on Liberty of the Seas.

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship is the only vessel in the fleet affected by Tropical Storm Harvey. Port of Galveston closed on Friday as the then Hurricane Harvey approached the Texas coast line which in turn forced Carnival and Royal Caribbean to change cruise ship itineraries.

Royal Caribbean has now posted an update for Liberty of the Seas which was originally scheduled to arrive back Port of Galveston today, August 27 and set off later for a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise.

Here is the latest from on Liberty of the Seas:

Due to Tropical Storm Harvey and weather conditions around the Galveston/Houston area, as well as the port’s current closure, Liberty of the Seas will arrive to the Port of Galveston tomorrow later than originally scheduled. Because of this, boarding for the next cruise will now take place on Monday, August 28 between noon and 3 p.m. We ask that guests not arrive to the port before noon.

Liberty of the Seas will now arrive in Port of Galveston sometime on Monday between noon and 3 PM. The cruise line is no doubt waiting for further details from Galveston and the ports condition. It also depends if other Carnival cruise ships will need to dock and pick up new guests first as they were supposed to dock in Galveston on Saturday.

Harvey is now a Tropical Storm since it hit Texas on Friday night. The storm currently has maximum sustained winds of 40 MPH and is causing major rainfall in Texas along with high winds and flooding.
