If you didn’t already know, Carnival Magic is now receiving a multi million dollar refurbishment over the next few weeks. The 130,000 gross ton ship is getting all its enhancements at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas. Over the two weeks we’ll see many improvements including the FUN 2.0 upgrades.
The upgrades will include fleet favorites like Guy’s Burger Joint, Red Frog Bar, Blue Iguana the Alchemy Bar and tons more. Carnival Magic will also get Pizzeria del Capitano, an Italian styled dining venue.
The FUN 2.0 enhancements were first introduced on the Carnival Liberty in 2011, they are still rolling out across the fleet. Other spaces around the vessel will get a much-needed refresh including the Gift Shops, Casino, Spa and Dining Rooms. Exterior areas of the ship will also be freshened up and once complete the Carnival Magic will look nice a new again.
You can take a look at some photos which were provided to Cruise Hive by Carnival Magic crew member Emma Louise Allen:
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line said:
“Carnival Magic is already a groundbreaking ship – it was the first to feature our popular Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant, the Caribbean-themed RedFrog Pub and SportSquare outdoor recreation facility – and with these new features we’re making this spectacular floating resort even better. Following this extensive refurbishment, Carnival Magic will offer even more exciting on-board choices for travel agents to market to their clients”
Carnival Magic will continue to sail from Galveston, Texas from March 6 on 7-night Western Caribbean cruises. Guests sailing from Galveston won’t be able to experience the new enhancements for long, Carnival Magic will be redeployed to Port Canaveral from April 30, 2016. The 3,645 passenger ship will alternate between week-long Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
