It is being reported that Carnival Corp is considering selling two of its cruise brands Cunard Line and Seabourn Cruises.
Two Carnival-Owned Cruise Lines Could Be Sold
During these difficult times, cruise lines are scrambling to ride out the global health crisis and the suspension of operations. Carnival Corporation is one of those companies which is making efforts to ride out the bad times by selling off cruise ships and now possibly even selling cruise lines.
According to Tradewinds, there are sources and rumors that Carnival could be selling the iconic cruise line Cunard which is based in the UK and the luxury operator Seabourn Cruises. With both cruise lines mainly catering towards the older cruising market and the need for increased returns, there could be an offload of the lines.
Update: Since the Tradewinds publication, Carnival Corporation has strongly denied the possibility that the two cruise brands could be sold.
Do note, that nothing is yet official and it’s just insider talk which has proved to be correct in the past. It does all depend on when cruises can resume and how much of an impact financial returns will be especially for the two lines in question.

With new health measures being implemented across the industry cruise ships will be sailing at around half capacity. There will be limited onboard activity and procedures before during and after any voyage. We already know that Royal Caribbean is introducing in partnership with other cruise lines a new virtual safety drill, that will please many cruisers to start!
Cunard Line has currently suspended operations through November 1, 2020, for Queen Mary 2. Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth’s sailings are cancelled through November 23. The fleet is anchored off the southern coast of the UK and waiting for cruises to resume.

Seabourn Cruises has suspended operations into October and November 2020. Seabourn Sojourn will be the first vessel to resume sailings from October 13 and from then, the remaining fleet will start a phased-in return to service.
Carnival Corp is disposing a total of 15 cruise ships over the coming months and some of those have already left to join new fleets or sadly to be scrapped in Turkey.
