Beginning this week, Holland America Line is launching a new “Refer a Friend” incentive program, enticing loyal past guests to share their passion for the brand.
The line’s “Refer a Friend” program will run indefinitely from mid-November in hopes of introducing both new and seasoned travelers to explore all the line has to offer, allowing the referred traveler and the new guest to earn a $50 Cruise Credit.
The Line’s “Refer a Friend” Program
Holland America Line will begin its brand new “Refer a Friend” program this week that will attract past guests to share their excitement for the brand through an incentives program.
With incentives aimed at both new and seasoned travelers to the line, the Refer a Friend rewards members of the line’s Mariner Society loyalty program will be able to share the promotion with their friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to make a first-time booking.
As a Mariner Society Member, guests earn Cruise Day credits for each day they cruise and for all purchases they make onboard, with additional bonus credits accrued when guests pay a published fare for a suite or penthouse, and for every $300 spent in eligible onboard purchases.
The Chief Operating Officer for Holland America Line, Beth Bodensteiner said, “Holland America Line has one of the highest repeat guest rates in the industry, but there is still an untapped segment of the market who have never cruised.”
“The best brand ambassadors are our Mariners who know our brand and know who would love to take a Holland America Line cruise for the first time. Our Refer a Friend program allows us to reach new cruisers while rewarding our loyal guests at the same time,” Bodensteiner added.
Past guests utilizing the program must have a Mariner ID to be eligible, but every person who cruises with Holland America Line is automatically enrolled in the Mariner Society loyalty program for convenience.
For 2023 cruises and beyond, a new offering has been added for loyalty guests, an exclusive early booking benefit featuring onboard credit incentives of up to $400 per stateroom when booked within 90 days of a new season launch.
$50 Credit for Guests
This exciting new program will last indefinitely for the cruise line, allowing first-time guests to receive a $50 Onboard Credit per person and referring past guests to receive a $50 Future Cruise Credit.

The Future Cruise Credit that will be gifted to the referring guest can be redeemed once a booking is made to put toward their next Holland America Line voyage, with cruise options to Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Panama Canal, Canada/New England, Hawaii, South Pacific, South America and Antarctica, Australia, and even New Zealand.
The referred friend can use their administered Onboard Credit towards a variety of amenities such as specialty dining options, spa services, shore excursions, gift shop purchases, and additional Holland America Line experiences.
