Holland America Cancels All Eastern Mediterranean Cruise Season

Holland America moving cruise ships away from Egypt.

Holland America Line which is known for cruising to international ports has cancelled all of the lines Mediterranean sailings due to ongoing unrest in Egypt.

The ms Noordam which was to sail in the region has now been redeployed to the Western and central Mediterranean from Spring 2014. The unrest in Egypt has been ongoing so back in July Holland America cancelled all calls to the country. The cruise line then redeployed the ships affected.

So now instead passengers who were booked for the Egypt itineraries can choose a European cruise for 11 to 14 nights in 2014. Passengers can also get the same class stateroom for their voyage. The price of the stateroom will be the same price as their previous booking no matter what. An onboard credit will also be given depending on the type of cabin, booking and length of the cruise.

Has anyone ever cruised to Egypt? Are passengers missing out? Let us know in the comments below.
