A Carnival cruise ship came to the rescue of 24 people just off the coast of Florida on Saturday after a small boat was in distress and was taking on water.

Royal Caribbean have announced its 2016 to 2017 Caribbean itineraries and one of the highlights is the cruise lines upcoming cruise ship Harmony of the Seas.

The cruise line announced today (March 6th, 2015) not just Harmony of the Seas deployment but many other vessel in the fleet including sister ships Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. Harmony of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship in the world once it’s complete in April 2016 and the vessel will homeport in Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The cruise ship will join Allure of the Seas sailing out of Port Everglades on seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises. Specific details about the port have not yet been revealed but we can expect several popular destinations in the Virgin Islands and others that large ships already call at. The itinerary will be for the 2016/17 winter season and the announcement was part of a much larger fleet deployment throughout the region.

Royal Caribbean are yet to reveal harmony of the Seas inaugural offerings once its construction is complete at the STX France shipyard in St Nazaire, France. The ship will be the largest in the world at 227,000 gross tons and carrying 5,400 passengers. There will be a large water slides featured in the Sports Zone overlooking the Central park neighborhood.
