Carnival Cruise Line has extended its pause of operations in Australia impacting two cruise ships into December 2020.
Extended Suspension in Australia
With ongoing travel restrictions in Australia and a range of different limitations affecting international travel in the region, Carnival Cruise Line has now extended its suspension on departures out of Australia through December 2, 2020. The transpacific/Honolulu to Brisbane sailing on October 6 is also cancelled.
The extension impacts the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Splendor, which are both usually based out of Australia. It comes as no surprise really as there is still a huge uncertainty on resuming cruises as the health crisis impacts different countries and regions.

The cruise line is contacting travel agents and guests affected by the further cancellations. Flexible options are being offered to guests and Carnival is apparently getting in touch with everyone.
Compensation is being offered in the form of a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) and onboard credit depending on the length of the cruise booked. Carnival Australia is dealing with the situation down under so options available and the procedures may be slightly different from those in the United States.

Carnival had previously announced its suspension in Australia through October 29, 2020. In the U.S. all sailings are suspended through all of October. The cruise line is also working with the relevant health authorities on implementing new health protocols across the fleet.
