Fun Shops Complete Refurbishment on Carnival Cruise Ship

New onboard gift shops are ready for business onboard a Carnival Cruise Ship after being under refurbishment for almost two cruises.

The Tax & Duty-Free Gift Shops onboard Carnival Valor have gone through a massive refurbishment and are opening tomorrow for business. The shops which have been taken over by Dufry from Starboard Cruise Services closed from the beginning of Carnival Valor’s May 29 sailing from Galveston, Texas. Since then the shops have been gutted out with brand new fixtures, displays, build outs and stock. The perfume section which was previously located next to the Jewelry has also been moved next to the Liquor store on the port side of the ship.

Due to the renovation work, the shops which are usually full of shoppers every day have been closed but those on the current June 3 sailing will be the first to experience the new Fun Shops as they open on the last sea day, June 7 at midday. New staff members signed on the Carnival Valor on May 29 to help set up the different shop departments ready for the first passengers.

The new Dufy Tax & Duty-Free Shops are located on the starboard and port side on the ships Promenade deck. Dufry now runs shops on two Carnival cruise ships. Other concessions include Harding Brothers on ten ships and Starboard on the remaining ships.

Carnival Valor is based out of Galveston, Texas and sails short 4 and 5 -day cruises to Mexico. The vessel last underwent a dry dock in 2016 and is 110,000 gross tons.
