Celebrity Cruises has celebrated the start of physical construction of the second Edge class cruise ship which is named Celebrity Apex. The first piece of steel was cut at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard (formerly STX France) in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Construction Begins on Celebrity Apex Cruise Ship
More new cruise ship news from Celebrity Cruises with the second Edge class cruise ship. The first piece of steel has been cut at the French shipyard of the newly named Celebrity Apex. This marks actual physical construction of the ship which moves on from the development and planning stages.
Celebrity Apex will follow in the footsteps of sister ship Celebrity Edge which will join the fleet in just a few months time. Apex will be an identical design and bring the revolutionary new features which Celebrity Cruises also introduced on Edge.

Celebrity Apex is expected to make her debut in spring 2020 and will be 117,000 gross tons with a guest capacity of 2,900. There will also be a third and fourth Edge class ship arriving in Fall 2021 and Fall 2022.
