Carnival Cruise Line Cancels More Sailings Due to Australia Ban

Carnival Cruise Line in Australia has announced a further extension on its pause of operations in Australia due to a further ban by the country.

Cruise Hive is sad to report on dreadful news that 2 cruise passengers have died in a moped accident in Cozumel, Mexico. The El Policiaco De Cozumel facebook page is reporting the 2 passengers were visiting the island of Cozumel located on Mexico’s east coast on April 2. The couple was from the Carnival Liberty which was making a port of call for the day.

The 2 passengers were apparently husband and wife and were riding a black Honda moped along one of the main roads. The tragic accident occurred at around 3:20 pm, they skidded off the road and sadly the woman died at the scene. The husband was taken to Hospital but also died later in the day at around 5 pm. It’s not clear on the nationality of the 2 passengers.

The 110,000 gross ton Carnival Liberty was sailing a 4-night Western Caribbean cruise which ended in its home port of Galveston, Texas today. Our thoughts go out to the couple’s family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time.
