The Disney Wonder which is operated by Disney Cruise Line has been stuck in port overnight due to heavy fog.
The Disney cruise ship has been forced to stay overnight in its homeport of Galveston, Texas due to heavy fog in the area. The ship arrived late on Friday on the end of a 7-night Bahamas cruise. According to passengers onboard the ship at the time, Disney Wonder didn’t begin entering the port until the afternoon.

The ship was scheduled to depart later on Friday for another 7-night cruise to the Bahamas including calls in Key West, Castaway Cay and Nassau. Marine Traffic shows the large vessel is still moored in Galveston Port and with heavy fog still in the area it’s not clear when the ship will depart.
On Saturday, January 14 the Carnival Valor and Carnival Freedom are scheduled to arrive into Galveston but they could be delayed due to the fog. An advisory by NOAA does state there will be dense fog until 9 AM local time.
Disney Wonder is an 83,300 gross ton vessel which can carry over 1,700 guests at double occupancy. We have contacted the cruise line for more details and will update this post once we get a response.
