Major Cruise Lines in Europe Set to Restart Operations

It's looking brighter for these major cruise lines in Europe as operations are expected to restart very soon.

It’s being reported that Disney Cruise Line has started adding lifeguards to its cruise ships. Lifeguards have already been added to the Disney Dream and Magic since September this year. The other ships in fleet which are Disney Fantasy and Wonder are to also receive onboard lifeguards by the middle of November.

The lifeguards will watch the family pools when they are open. Disney will be the very first cruise line to offer this and is sure to be welcomed by families who have young kids. We are wondering if this will be a new trend going into the new year as it provides a safety net for passengers with kids and a safer cruising experience.

It was only a few weeks ago when a young six-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool on the Carnival Victory cruise ship. The boy was playing with his brother who was also a child. Carnival don’t have any lifeguards on their ships but now with more family cruises at low prices this could change.

Many hotels and holiday resorts don’t have lifeguards and have managed just fine but with all the recent problems on cruise ships this could be an important debate for the future.
