MSC Cruises’ new private island in the Bahamas which is delayed now has a later opening date.
MSC Cruises Private Island Opening in December
MSC Cruises has announced the new opening date if its private island in the Bahamas after a delay. The Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve was originally scheduled to open in the middle of November but due to the complex project and multiple weather delays the new destination for the cruise line could not open.
First, the cruise line has said that it remains committed to developing the island in a ec-friendly and sustainable way. As the final stages were being reached the island was hit with some adverse weather conditions starting with the devastating Hurricane Dorian in September which forced the demobilization of 600 workers.
Even though the cruise line remained on track for completing after the Hurricane there were further weather issues that caused heavy swells and strong winds. A s a result this caused interruptions and the need of one section of the beach to be reinforced. Further, last-minute issues with leveling of the sand have also been needed.
No doubt it will be worth the way for the newest cruise line private island which will now be opening on December 5, 2019. MSC Meraviglia which recently made her North America debut was set to be the very first MSC cruise ship to call at the island on November 9, 2019.
