Cunard Line have confirmed that a passenger has sadly dies after falling while boarding the Queen Elizabeth cruise ship on April 1st.
The tragedy happened when the tender boat arrived back to the vessel so guests could get back onboard after a visit to Cambodia. Cunard Line have stated that while the passenger was boarding the cruise ship from the tender she fell into the ocean. Two crew members jumped in to rescue her as they were probably there to help guests transfer safely.

We can confirm that very sadly a passenger died earlier today following an accident whilst boarding Queen Elizabeth from a tender. Two of our crew members reacted very quickly and jumped in to rescue her. She was then taken to the medical centre but despite our very best efforts she died. Our customer care team is fully involved and will be offering every support including to those passengers who witnessed the incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
The female passenger was then taken to the medical center where she sadly died. No more details have been released by the cruise line at the moment. The 92,000 gross ton Queen Elizabeth was sailing a 112-night world cruise from Southampton and Sihanoukville, Cambodia is just one of many ports of calls included in the itinerary. Cunard line is currently celebration is 175th Anniversary this year.
