Cruise Ship Passengers Involved In Tragic Bus Collision In Dominica

Cruise Hive is sad to report that a total of 12 guests have been involved in a tragic Bus collision in Dominica yesterday lunchtime. 10 of those passengers were from the P&O Azura cruise ship and 1 guest has died from injuries.

P&O Cruises posted the news on their Facebook Page and the cause of the bus accident is not yet known. The bus involved was operated by a shore excursion provider. 9 of the other cruise ship passengers were taken to Hospital and treated. Most of them have now been discharged from the local Hospital. The British-based cruise line has activated its Care team and is helping all those involved on-site.

P&O Cruises Senior Vice President, Paul Ludlow, said:

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone touched by this tragic event. Our employees and crew are working to do everything we can to extend support and assistance to those affected and their loved ones.”

P&O Azura is one of the largest ships in the fleet at 115,000 gross tons and carrying over 3,000 guests at double occupancy. The ship was calling in Roseau on the island of Dominica which is located in the Eastern Caribbean. the vessel is sailing 15-day itinerary which is scheduled to end in Barbados on November 11.
