Princess Cancels 21 Sailings Due to Port Closures

Princess Cruises has announced another batch of sailings that are canceled in Asia due to port closures and travel restrictions.

Additional Canceled Sailings

With countries restricting travel and many port closures for passenger vessels in Asia, Princess Cruises has decided to cancel an additional 21 sailing in the region. The canceled cruises are for the Sapphire Princess cruise ship

This also means the vessel will reposition to Australia six months earlier than the first scheduled. She will offer 44 new cruises from five major cities down under which can be booked from February 27, 2020.

These cancellations are in addition to the cancellations we posted right here which includes for the Diamond Princess currently under quarantine in Yokohama, Japan, Majestic Princess, and earlier Sapphire Princess cruises.

Sapphire Princess is 115,875 gross tons and has a guest capacity of over 2,600 at double occupancy. The Coronavirus has already infected more than 73,000 people around the world and the death toll is at 1,873 mainly in mainland China. The Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan now has 544 confirmed cases of the virus which is also known as COVID-19.
