Costa Luminosa Sets Sail On Around the World Cruise

Costa Luminosa is setting off today on a 106-day around the world cruise! The Costa ship is set to visit 5 continents, sail across 3 oceans and call at 35 destinations across the globe, just breathtaking.

Today the vessel departs from Savona, Italy on an adventure which has been offered by Coast Cruises each year since 2011. Just over 2,000 cruisers have reserved a cabin for 2017 around the world cruise.

The cruise line has released some interesting details about where the passengers are from. Most who have booked for the sailing are around 600 people from France along with under 500 from Germany, around 300 from Switzerland, over 200 people from Italy and around 150 from Spain.

The oldest cruiser onboard will be 96 years old and the youngest cruiser will be just 2 years old. In total, there are passengers from 37 different countries.

Before Costa Luminosa will arrive back in Savona on April 22, 2017, it will be calling in some of the best destinations cruisers could possible experience including:

Casablanca (Morocco), Salvador and Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Punta Arenas and Valparaiso (Chile), Easter Island (Chile), Tahiti (Polynesia), Auckland (New Zealand), Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (Australia), Mumbai, Goa and Cochin (India), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Muscat (Oman) and Aqaba (Jordan).

Costa Luminosa is a 114,000 gross ton vessel which can carry over 2,800 guests at double occupancy. When the ship completes its epic voyage in April it will begin sailing from Venice, Italy.
