Celebrity Summit entered Dry Dock on February 27 for its major multi-million dollar refurbishment. The ship is receiving all the upgrades at the Grand Bahamas shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas. The ship will be getting the same enhancements as Celebrity Infinity, which went into dry dock Autumn 2015.
As part of the $16 Million upgrade the Celebrity Summit will get a new “Rooftop Terrace” inspired by the Solstice class ships “lawn club.” This Rooftop Terrace will be like no other in the fleet with comfortable furniture and a large outdoor film screen. Guests will be able to chill out with a cocktail or two along with their favorite snacks.
The Penthouse and Royal Suite will be refreshed with new decor and materials. Dining venues are being improved along with the transformation of Normandie into Tuscan Grille. A tone of general improvements will also take place with new carpeting and bedding all over. The ship’s hull will get some much-needed attention too.
The Celebrity Summit’s refurbishment will be complete by March 12. The 91,000 gross ton vessel will then be sailing out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on 7-night southern Caribbean cruises.
