The past week has been a perfect one for the Royal Caribbean Group. After Royal Caribbean International announced a record-breaking booking week, Celebrity Cruises posted the largest booking day ever on Black Friday, followed by its strongest Cyber Monday in history.
The strong bookings show the pent-up demand for cruises that is still apparent even though cruises have been sailing for more than a year. Combined with an exciting new class of ships that has been drawing attention internationally, Celebrity Cruises is all set for a busy 2023.
Black Friday & Cyber Monday Prove Succesful for Celebrity
Guests flocked to the Celebrity Cruises website and Celebrity’s travel advisors to book a cruise onboard one of the cruise lines’ exciting cruise ships in the past week. Both Black Friday and Cyber Monday showed that Celebrity Cruises is one of the most popular cruise lines. The cruise line posted record-breaking sales on both days.
With a fleet of ships that sails worldwide itineraries, from the rich history of Europe, the glacial beauty of Alaska, the sun-drenched charm of the Caribbean, and the physical and cultural beauty of Japan and Southeast Asia, guests have more than enough opportunities to book the cruise of their life.
Of course, the attention goes to Celebrity Cruises’ newest cruise ship, Celebrity Beyond. The Edge class cruise ship was christened by ship Godmother Simone Biles last month and has already proven to be a winner.
Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo: “All of the recent exposure highlighting Celebrity’s innovative ship design and onboard offerings built incredible demand from consumers longing to experience the world in new ways and through a new level of relaxed luxury,”
“We saw demand across the full depth and breadth of our itinerary offerings around the globe and we can’t wait to take our guests to the world’s best places on the world’s best places, our Celebrity ships.”
Sales were further boosted by the announcement from Celebrity Cruises that the cruise line plans to operate no less than 500 cruises in the 2024/2025 cruise season.
The 16 cruise ships in the Celebrity fleet, including the fourth ship in the highly acclaimed Edge Series, the 140,600 gross-ton Celebrity Ascent, are scheduled to sail to more than 250 destinations in 70 countries.
27 Homeports in 2023
Celebrity Cruises’ massive range of worldwide voyages has been the bread and butter for the company for years, and for 2023, that’s no different.
The cruise line will offer cruises from no less than 27 different homeports, including new year-round European offerings, new ports of call, new overnights, and even double overnights. Some of the highlights include cruises from Sydney, Australia; Mumbai, India; Tokyo, Japan; Valparaiso, Chile; and Seward, Alaska.
There will be new experiences across the rich cultures of every continent as far south as Antarctica and as far north as Iceland and Greenland.
The company’s newest cruise ship, Celebrity Beyond, will spend winter in the Caribbean. From Fort Lauderdale, Celebrity Boyond’s Caribbean season offers 5-8 night sailings with itineraries that include ports of call in Mexico, The Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Grand Cayman, and other popular destinations.
In April 2023, the ship will return to the Mediterranean for another summer in Europe, offering round-trip sailings from Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy.
The 140,600 gross ton Celebrity Beyond is the third in the game-changing Edge class of ships and has space for 3,260 guests at double occupancy.
