Carnival’s Newest Cruise Ship on Final Leg of Maiden Voyage

Carnival Horizon which is the newest Carnival cruise ship is sailing the final days of its maiden voyage from Barcelona and for the first time has been showing off all its new features.

The new ship is currently sailing its inaugural cruise which departed Barcelona, Spain on April 2. The vessel was delivered by Fincantieri to the cruise line at the Monfalcone shipyard at the end of March.

The cruise has been the first time where guests have been able to enjoy everything that Carnival Horizon has on offer with many of the features only found on sister ship Carnival Vista.

However, Carnival has still brought some brand new venues to the fleet being introduced onboard Carnival Horizon including Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse|Brewhouse, Dr. Seuss water park and the first teppanyaki venue.

The ship also has features which were introduced on Carnival Vista including SkyRide, IMAX Theater, and new dining & bar venues.

During the first 13-day voyage the Carnival Horizon is calling at some of the best cruise destinations in the Meditteranean including ports in Italy, Croatia, Greece, Sicily, Malta, Sardinia and Spain which is where the ship is homeported. The ship will end the cruise back in Barcelona on April 15, 2018. The inaugural season in Europe will run through May 2018.

Carnival Horizon will reposition to New York for a summer schedule of four-day Bermuda and eight-day Caribbean cruises then launch year-round six- and eight-day Caribbean sailings from Miami in September.
