Carnival Victory Dry Dock, It’s Happening Right Now

Carnival Victory is undergoing a major multi-million dollar dry dock where brand new features and enhancements are being added. The Carnival cruise ship being brought up to date with the latest offerings from Carnival Cruise Line.

Carnival Victory’s dry dock is taking place at the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas. This is the place where most of the Carnival ships get refurbished with Carnival Elation being the previous vessel to be renovated in October 2017. During the Carnival Dry Dock, many new features are being added including the popular Award-winning Guys Burger Joint as seen on other ships in the fleet and new cabin categories.

We have a collection of photos while the ship is getting some much-needed attention. As seen in the shots work is also being done on the exterior with many technical aspects being refreshed. Also as usual during cruise ship refurbishments the ship is receiving a nice shiny coat of paint.

What’s Being Added?

During the 17-day upgrade, Carnival Victory is getting many features already seen on other Carnival ships. One the operation is completed guests will enjoy all the FUN 2.0 enhancements which we will detail below:

New Cabin Categories

One of the biggest highlights for the refreshed Carnival Victory is new category cabins. The new accommodations include 260-square-feet Scenic Ocean View staterooms and 320-square-foot Scenic Grand Ocean View Staterooms. It gets even grander with a new 820-square-foot Captain Suites including a huge balcony, two full-size bathrooms, a living room and two separate sleeping areas.

Guys Burger Joint

A very popular burger venue found throughout the fleet. This is free of charge poolside dining venue is where guests can enjoy fresh cut fries and amazing burgers along with loads of choosable toppings. This venue is in partnership with TV chef Guy Fieri.

Poolside Venues

two new poolside venues are being added to offer guests an even better experience on those days at sea. RedFrog Rum Bar is a Caribbean inspired bar offering rum-based drinks along with nice cold beers. BlueIguana Tequila Bar is Mexican inspired with of course Tequila and other drinks to enjoy by the ship pool on the lido deck. BlueIguana Cantina is another food option along with Guys Burger Joint. The poolside venue offers Mexican style foods.

Lido Dining

Located on the lido deck two eatery bars are going to offer great foods when the Carnival cruise ship completes dry dock and enters service again. The newly updated Deli offers a wide range of different type sandwiches. Bonsai Sushi Express located across the way to the Deli has smaller Sushi dishes which can be enjoyed by anyone.

Cherry on Top

This store is usually located on the promenade deck on other Carnival ships. Don’t let your kids go in there! It’s full of candies and chocolates along with gifts to purchase.

Carnival Victory’s refurbishment will be finished on January 21 where the newly renovated vessel will resume its service out of PortMiami, Florida. The ship will continue sailing 3-day and 4-day sailings to the Bahamas. The 3-day itinerary departs every Friday from Miami calling in Nassau, Bahamas. The 4-day itinerary departs on Mondays including calls in Key West, Florida along with a call in Cozumel, Mexico or the private island of Half Moon Cay.

Carnival Victory is the first Carnival ship of 2018 to undergo a dry dock. The next ship will be Carnival Fascination scheduled to begin on February 4 in Freeport. The ship will end being chartered to FEMA and begin cruising once again from San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 18.
