Carnival Vista was officially delivered to Carnival Cruise Line today at ceremony in Italy. The Italian ship builder Fincantieri delivered the new vessel to the Miami based cruise line at its shipyard in Trieste, Italy.
Carnival’s most innovative and largest ship at 133,500 gross tons took center stage as a traditional handover ceremony was held. The ship will set sail on its maiden voyage from Trieste, Italy as Carnival will now take control and responsibility.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line said:
“Carnival Vista is a spectacular addition to our fleet and we can’t wait for our guests to experience all of the ship’s exciting new features,”
“Carnival Vista will provide our guests an opportunity to create a lifetime of wonderful vacation memories while offering our valued travel agent partners another exciting vacation option to market to their clients,”
The 3,954 passenger Carnival Vista will sail its inaugural season in the Mediterranean through October 2016. The vessel will then embark on a 13-day transatlantic voyage to begin two 11-day cruises from New York in November 2016. Carnival Vista will then reposition to its new home port of PortMiami for Caribbean sailings starting at the end of November.
