Carnival Cruise Line in Australia has posted that the Carnival Spirit is sailing at a reduced speed due to a propulsion issue.
The Spirit class ships propulsion problem has forced it to sail at a reduced speed while coming to an end of an 8-night Pacific Islands cruise. Carnival has posted that the ship will arrive back in Sydney Australia at 3pm instead of early in the morning. The good news is all hotel services onboard are fully functioning and Carnival are in full control of the situation.
The next scheduled cruise, a 9-night Pacific Islands departing on October 14 will be delayed. Check-in for the voyage will begin at 6:30pm with a midnight departure time from Sydney. Technicians will board the Carnival Spirit once it arrives at its home port where they will work to fix the problem during the 9-night cruise.
Carnival stated “we sincerely regret the inconvenience. We will post a 100.00 AUD per person credit to your Sail & Sign account to cover any meal expenses you incur as a result of this delay.” Cruise Hive will keep readers informed on any new developments.
