Carnival Cruise Line has announced that Carnival Paradise will begin sailing to Cuba from June 2017.
The Miami-based cruise line has been given the green light for cruises to Cuba starting with the Fantasy class ship. The island’s capital of Havana will be featured on select sailings from Tampa, Florida. Overnight calls to Cuba will begin from June 29, 2017, which will add even more options for those wanting to sail from the Port of Tampa.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said:
“Cuba is an island jewel unique from anywhere else in the Caribbean and we are thrilled to have this rare opportunity to take our guests to this fascinating destination.”
“The opportunity to visit Havana, combined with the fun, relaxed ambiance and wide variety of amenities and features offered on Carnival Paradise, will make for a truly one-of-a-kind vacation experience,” she added.
Four-day cruises will depart June 29, July 13, August 24, September 7 and 21, and October 5 and 19, 2017 as well as May 3, 2018, and include a daytime and overnight visit to Havana. Five-day voyages will depart August 14 and 28, September 25 and October 9, 2017, and include a daytime and overnight visit to Havana as well as a stop in either Cozumel or Key West.
As expected, guests will be able to enjoy shore excursions where the local culture can be experienced. This will be the first Carnival Cruise Line operated vessel to sail to Cuba and joins a growing list of cruise lines which have now been allowed to feature Cuba on their itineraries. Bookings for the new Carnival Paradise cruises are opening today.
Carnival Paradise is 70,300 gross ton vessel which can carry over 2,000 passengers at double occupancy. The ship is currently sailing Western Caribbean cruises out of Tampa, Florida.
