On Thursday, October 27 The Carnival Liberty turned back around towards its homeport. The reason the ship turned around was due to an injured female passenger who needed further treatments on land.

The ship had not long set sail from Galveston, Texas when a female guest was injured onboard. The woman fell and suffered an open leg fracture. A Carnival spokesperson also told the site the following:

We had a guest on board who experienced a medical emergency and required further medical treatment ashore so we brought the ship back to the dock. We were just on our way out of port so headed back in. The guest is now off the vessel and the ship is on its way back out to continue with the voyage.

The vessel is sailing a 5-day Western Caribbean cruise which includes a call in Cozumel, Mexico. The ship will arrive back in Galveston on October 27. The voyage has not been delayed or impacted in any way. Carnival Liberty can carry over 2,900 passengers at double occupancy at 11,300 gross tons.

We do hope the woman recovers well and gets the chance to take another cruise in the future.
