Carnival Elation Passenger Dies After Falling From Balcony

A tragedy has occurred on the Carnival Elation cruise ship, a woman has fallen from her balcony several decks below and has sadly died.

A female passenger on the Carnival Elation cruise ship has fallen from her balcony and sadly died from her injuries. This news is starting to make its way across the industry and it’s never good reporting on such tragedies. This is still a developing story but we’ll let you know what is known so far.

The tragic event of the woman falling from her balcony was first reported by Jacksonville.com and according to the site, the woman had fallen from her balcony on the Carnival Elation which is operated by Carnival Cruise Line. She fell several decks below and the ships medical team urgently attended her but sadly she passed away due to her injuries.

According to a statement sent out from the Miami-based cruise line, all the relevant authorities have been contacted and the Carnival Care team is supporting the woman’s friends and family. The tragedy occurred while Carnival Elation was at sea on Friday morning, January 19, 2018. The woman has not been named or her age revealed, we do send out our condolences to her family and friends during this very difficult time.

Carnival Elation had already departed on a 4-night cruise the day before. The ship is based out of Jacksonville, Florida and the itinerary includes calls in Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas. The Fantasy-class Carnival cruise ship is 70,300 gross tons and can carry over 2,000 guests at double occupancy.

In October 2017 we posted about a young girl who had also fallen to a deck below on Carnival Glory while docked at PortMiami. Again earlier in 2017, a young child fell from her balcony to the deck below while the Carnival Breeze was at sea.
