The cruise line was set to roll out a new room service menu in the middle of January. The menu was set to ditch the complimentary options and bring in a fee-based service ranging from $2 to $5 per item. The only option that would remain free would be the continental breakfast.
Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador John Heald posted the following:
Hello everyone, hope you are all having a brilliant Sunday.
I had previously told you about changes to our room service offerings that would go into effect in January.
I wanted to let you know that we are in the process of making some adjustments to that plan to balance the interests of our guests with our efforts to reduce food waste costs.
For the time being then, there will be no changes until we finalise a plan that will I will communicate to you all.
Well, Carnival Cruise Line has now decided to hold off on rolling out the new menu for now. Some more adjustments are going to be made to bring more of a balance and hopefully please guests. The cruise line is working on making sure onboard food waste is reduced but also try to offer something good for guests.
