UPDATE (Sep 2)
Here is the latest updated from Carnival Cruise Line on cruise ship itineraries impacted by Hurricane Dorian. At the moment Dorian is pounding Grand Bahama Island which includes the cruise port at Freeport. Dorian currently is at a category 4 with maximum sustained winds of 145 MPH and only moving at less than 1 MPH towards the west.

Our Fleet Operations Center in Miami is actively monitoring Hurricane Dorian’s potential impact on the departures listed below. Given that storms can be so uncertain, this information reflects our plan for these sailings based on the current forecast.
As the safety of our guests and crew is our number one priority, we will continue to keep an eye on the storm and factor in guidance from the National Hurricane Center, U.S. Coast Guard and the local port authorities to provide timely updates as more information becomes available.Â

Carnival Sunshine 09/02/19 – We will depart today at 6:00 PM to accommodate our arriving guests impacted by traffic diversions and closures.  Our call to Half Moon Cay has been canceled. We are closely monitoring the situation in Charleston.  We know that all of our guests want to make it to the terminal this afternoon, but we encourage everyone to remain safe and obey all guidance provided by officials.  If you are unable to use I26, please consider taking Hwy 61 or Hwy 17.  We strongly advise guests to use Waze traffic app to stay current on road conditions in real time. Given the circumstances, you may disregard your arrival appointments. JACKSONVILLE
Carnival Ecstasy 09/05/19 – Still evaluating.  Please sign up for text alerts by texting CCL12 to CRUISE (278473). Â
There is a possibility Carnival Ecstasy will not be able to return to Jacksonville on Thursday. Â If the port is closed, the ship will be in position to dock as soon as the authorities have reopened the port.
PORT CANAVERAL
Port Canaveral is closed. Â We are optimistic the port will reopen by Thursday. Â
Carnival Liberty 09/02/19 – This cruise is cancelled.  Guests will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and any pre-purchased items.Â
Carnival Elation 09/02/19 – Will now operate as a 2 day sailing departing Thursday, 9/05 and returning Saturday, 9/07. Port of call: To be determined. Guests who sail will receive a pro-rated refund of their cruise fare and any pre-purchased beverage and Wi-Fi packages. Guests who wish to cancel will receive a 100% future cruise credit.
PORTMIAMI
Carnival Horizon 09/01/19 – PortMiami is closed and expected to reopen no earlier than Wednesday. We now plan to operate a 3-day cruise, departing on Wednesday 9/04 and returning Saturday 9/07. We will visit Nassau on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Guests who sail will receive a 50% prorated refund of their cruise fare and any pre-purchased beverage and Wi-Fi packages, and a full refund of any pre-purchased shore excursions.  Additionally, you will receive a 50% future cruise credit. Given the shortened duration, you may cancel and receive a 100% future cruise credit.  Please contact 1-800-CARNIVAL by 6:00 PM on Monday, 09/02, if you decide to cancel and claim your future cruise credit. Hurricane Dorian Impacts Carnival Cruise Ships
The Hurricane is causing major disruption across the cruise industry by impacting ship itineraries and cruise ports. From this post, you’ll be able to track all the different changes to Carnival cruise ship itineraries across multiple ports including Port of Charleston, PortMiami, Port Canaveral, Port Everglades, Port of Tampa and Jacksonville.
Carnival Cruise Line is closely monitoring Dorian at its Fleet Operations Center in Miami, Florida. Guests are also being notified during their voyage of any changes needed and communications are going out to those booked on upcoming sailings, especially for this Labor Day Weekend.
We’ll list everything we know about specific ship changes below. We suggest to bookmark this page and keep checking for the latest updates. However, if you are booked with the cruise line do check for official updates first.
Cruises from Port Canaveral
Here are cruises from Port Canaveral which are being monitored at the moment and could change. The port has closed and will reopen once the Hurricane passes.
Carnival Elation (Sailing Date: Aug 29)
The Fantasy-class ship will still call at Nassau on Wednesday. The cruise line is waiting to see if the call to Freeport will remain, Guests will be informed. The ship might not be able to return to Port Canaveral on Monday due to the port being closed. The ship will arrive back as soon as it reopens.
Carnival Liberty (Sailing Date: Aug 30)
The Carnival cruise ship will depart Port Canaveral on August 30 as normal. The ship will shorten her call in Nassau on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The ship might not be able to return to Port Canaveral as normal on Monday if it closes so is now returning on Thursday, September 5. With the longer voyage, there will be visits to Costa Maya and Cozumel, both in Mexico.
Carnival Breeze (Sailing Date: Aug 31)
No changes have yet been made. Carnival still plans on keeping the itinerary as originally scheduled.
Carnival Elation (Sailing Date: Sep 2)
Carnival Elation will now be sailing a 2-day cruise to Nassau, Bahamas departing Port Canaveral on September 5 and returning on September 7.
Carnival Liberty (Sailing Date: Sep 2)
This cruise has now been canceled and guests will receive a full refund of their cruise fare.
Cruises from Port Miami
Here are cruises from Port Miami, Florida which could be altered in the coming hours, keep checking for the latest. The port is closed to inbound and outbound traffic and should reopen once Hurricane Dorian passes.
Carnival Conquest (Sailing Date: Aug 31)
So far there is no change to the itinerary out of Port Miami. Guests can receive text alerts by texting CCL8 to CRUISE (278473).
Carnival Horizon (Sailing Date: Sep 1)
Port officials approved Carnival Horizon to dock Saturday evening to give guests aboard the opportunity to disembark. The ship was required to depart late Saturday night and will return as soon as the port reopens, which could occur as late as Wednesday.
Embarkation for this cruise has been delayed and Carnival now plans to operate a shortened cruise, on the day the ship returns to Miami. Carnival Sensation (Sailing Date: Aug 31)
Carnival Sensation’s August 31 departure from Miami, Florida has now been altered. The ship will keep the same ports but in an alternative order to keep away from the Hurricane Dorian. The new itinerary is as follows:

9/1 – At Sea (previously Nassau)
9/2 – Now Grand Turk (previously Half Moon Cay)
9/3 – Now Half Moon Cay (previously Grand Turk)
9/4 – Now Nassau (previously at Sea)
9/5 – Miami
Carnival Victory (Sailing Date: Aug 30)
The Carnival Victory will not be calling at Nassau on Sunday. Instead, the ship will call at Key West on Saturday from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. A visit to Progreso has also been added for Monday as Port Miami will be closed. The ship will return to Miami on Wednesday, September 4.
Carnival Victory (Sailing Date: Sep 2)
With the previous voyage being longer, this cruise will now be a 2-day sailing departing Miami on September 4. Guests can get a full future cruise credit if they do not wish to go on the altered cruise.
Cruises from Fort Lauderdale
Carnival Magic (Sailing Date: Aug 25)

Carnival Miracle (Sailing Date: Sep 1)
With the anticipation of Tampa Port being closed, the Carnival Miracle will sail an 8-day cruise departing on Saturday evening. Cruises from Jacksonville

The ship will no longer be calling at Princess Cays in the Bahamas on Saturday. The port of call to the Carnival owned private destination will be replaced with Key West from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. If the ship cannot dock back in Charleston on Monday it will remain in position to do so as soon as the port reopens. Here is the revised itinerary:

Hurricane Dorian Latest
Dorian is an extremely dangerous major category 4 Hurricane. It will cause major disruption to the cruise industry and is a major threat to Florida after it hits the Bahamas in the coming hours.
As of writing this and according to the National Hurricane Center (NOAA), Hurricane Dorian has maximum sustained winds of 140 MPH. It is currently located 445 miles west of West Palm Beach, Florida. Dorian is currently moving west at 12 MPH.
